RePlace
Call for submissions.
Following on from the success of no place, an art exhibition that focused on place & space, [noplaceprojects*], in collaboration with photographer Mischa Haller, invites participants working in photograpy & video, to engage with the theme - RePlace.
As city dwellers, we are constantly aware of the ever-changing urban environments that are replaced; reinvented; reconstructed and re-arranged. Advances in technology and communication means that many cities are all experienced in similar ways with shared infrastructures and ways of working regardless of culture and destination.
By aiming to push boundaries in presentation, RePlace is interested in exploring these ideas further, not only in relation to the appropriateness of media to theme, but also in relation to the environment in which we show, where we can play with issues surrounding the transformation of no place, to place.
[noplaceprojects*] are aiming for a May/June 2009 opening, with a final selection of six-eight participants in early Spring. Venue TBA. To express interest please email, with supporting visuals and biog to:
